Now is a 'good time to buy to let'
Estate agents and landlords who understand the property market and
are looking to make an investment should make their move now in the
buy-to-let market, according to one housing expert.
Mark Garner, owner of landlord community portal LettingZone.com,
said that the best type of property to purchase at present is the
two-up two-down terraced houses which are the "bread and butter" of
the market.
His comments follow the remarks of the Association of Residential
Letting Agents, which recently claimed that the
rental market is beginning to stabilise, while the previous fall in
tenant numbers is starting to ease.
"If you buy at the right price, from an auction or from a highly
motivated seller [with] a two or three-bedroom type property, I
think it would be a great long-term investment," stated Mr
Garner.
He went on to say that it would be worthwhile for buyers who can
afford a deposit to take advantage of the present situation.
