'Time might be right' to buy property in Manchester

Now could be a good time for first time buyers to look for property for sale in Manchester, according to one
organisation.
Abbey has called on people looking to get onto the property ladder
to consider their first house purchase soon.
Research from the firm has revealed that a cumulative £1
billion could be saved if the 1.61 million Britons looking to buy
outside London did so in the next 12 months.
It assessed the current house prices of typical accommodation
selected by first-time buyers, included apartments and terraced
houses.
The north-west emerged as one of the cheapest places to buy, with
the average terrace value standing at £69,513, which could
bode well for those looking for property for sale in Manchester.
Commenting on the results, Nici Audhlam-Gardiner, director of Abbey
Mortgages, said: "There is hope for first-time buyers.
"It's now cheaper in all bar one of the regions to buy rather than
rent and shows that saving for that all important deposit is so
worthwhile too."
The Council of Mortgage Lenders recently said UK house purchasing
levels are looking more and more positive. A study from the
organisation revealed there were 53,000 sales in August.
